My Story
He also serves as Sports Director for the Opioid Awareness Foundation, where he leads athlete-focused outreach programs that engage the sports community in the fight against opioid and fentanyl addiction. His initiatives include prevention campaigns, youth mentorship, and leadership within Fighters Against Opioids, a program that mobilizes combat sports professionals and student athletes to raise awareness and save lives.
A former football player at West Virginia State University and a founding team member of Florida International University’s football program, Guerby’s experience as an athlete informs his deep commitment to developing future stars. Through his work with Premier Athlete, a nonprofit initiative he co-leads with Sly Johnson, Guerby trains student athletes not just in physical skill, but in mental focus and life readiness - preparing them for success on and off the field.
In the business world, Guerby is also a successful entrepreneur with over 12 years in real estate and hospitality. He was instrumental in launching DecoBike in 2009, a pioneering bike-sharing company that later scaled and was acquired by Citibank. He is now the founder of Global Trust, a full-service real estate investment and property management firm based in Miami Beach.
